Boyoza (Sweet Anise and Sesame Breads)
Mamie Sol's DessertsIngredients for 4 round loaves
- 1 kg flour
- 1 glass of oil
- 200 g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 30 g fresh baker's yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp anise seeds
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
Knead all the ingredients together, adding lukewarm water until you obtain a pliable dough. Leave to rise for one hour. Shape into round, flat loaves. Score the tops in a crosshatch pattern. Leave to rise a second time. Brush the tops with egg yolk and bake at 180°C.
