Milk Rolls
Mamie Sol's DessertsMilk Rolls Ingredients:
- 500 g flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 30 g fresh baker's yeast
- 2 tbsp margarine
- 3 dl milk
Mix everything together in a bowl with the yeast previously dissolved in a little milk. Knead the dough, adding a little more flour if needed to obtain a pliable dough. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and leave to rise for 1 hour. Knead again and leave to rise for a further approximately 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to gas mark 7 or 200°. Prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Take a small piece of dough, shape into balls and place on the tray. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with sugar (brown sugar if available). Variation: you can place a square of milk chocolate inside each small ball of dough. Bake at 180°, keeping an eye on the cooking, and remove when the rolls are golden brown. (They keep well in the freezer; reheat for 1 minute in the microwave).
